So, here we are. Lower-level windows are in, and the fireplace is roaring. This feels surreal. A lot of you assume I'm a professional cabin builder. But I'm just a kid with a dream, and now I'm sitting inside of it typing this. Huge shout out to my sponsor, NICKS. In this episode, I'm wearing the Ridgeline Moc Toe, but honestly, all of their boots are great. Check out Nicks here: bit.ly/422oZ8N...

Timber to Toolshed: Turning Trees into a Remote Storage Shed"

Please NOTE: These trees were planted on private property on a 6’x6’ grid as an oxygen-producing carbon sink. When the trees grow bigger they need more space to grow so we thin about half of them out as the years go on. If we don’t they stop growing, start to die, and are more susceptible to diseases and beetle infestation. It becomes a bush, we are making a forest with big healthy trees. By th...

Awesome video & ideas. I have a box of unused salt, from an abandoned idea years ago... not iodized... & a bunch of logs to remove bark & clean. Perfect! I much rather use salt on my wood than bleach. Salt was always used as a preservative. Of course.
A word of caution. You will want to be careful applying your conditioner to the leather around the eyelets and the heel stack and sole. The leather around the eyelets can become too soft and tear the eyelets out. The heel stack and sole have glues that may react poorly to the oils in the conditioner, resulting in them unbonding.
I’m a 8.5 EE. I ordered the 8EE. They fit perfect.
Yes the 2nd pair of Nicks (Overlander) were way too small even though they were supposed to be the same size. My first pair of Nicks and my Franks are absolutely perfect. I bought a pair of Parkhurst Allen boots same size and they are great also. Next pair will be another pair of Franks. Maybe their dress casual.
What width are you? I'm looking at Parkhurst Allens and wondering if the forefoot will be wide enough for me (EE width).
Are these good year welted?
No, they're stitchdown in the front and nail down in the back. Much more durable than Goodyear machine welted. You can find UA-cam videos of how they're made
That wood looks about as strong as a carrot 😅
I'm from Canada to and work on construction. In Canada you hade to have green csa triangle on your boots. Difficulte to fine on pnw boots
“The point of a journey, is not to arrive.” ~ Neil Peart (you can move the comma: “The point of a journey is not, to arrive.”) I guess it depends on your journey.
Have u decided not to post anymore ?
*Thank you for a great review! Can you please name the other boots you had in the video? I wanted to look them up for comparison.*
I had to sharpen mine. It came blunt
Huuuuyyyyyyyyyyyy así con enseñanza manualmente quien no aprende

Where did you get your overstrike guard? I can't find any that fit the neck of it?
хороший топор . вожу такой в машине . но в руку сильно отдает при рубке . не подходит для валки больших деревьев -слишком легок

Im planing on building my own cabin on my bush property, would i be able to use gum trees? Or weould they not be great for it?
Yes, I am interested in seeing the longer version!
I’m currently awaiting the arrival of my first pair of nicks boots. I’ve been wearing my thorogoods for 2+ years daily. Oily the boots makes them go a long way. I might even get new soles on the thorogoods
What an inspiration you are. Handsome job. Greatest build ever. Thank you for sharing and teaching us. Greatings from Portugal.
Have your plans changed on moving the cabin? Now that you’re finished, is your plan still to have it de-assemble easily to move to another location?
why are you dressed like that
You do not want any chemical made in the US. They have poisoned Earth with all kinds of FOREVER CHEMICALS. DuPont should be out of Business.
I bought a pair of Roberts with the 55 last. After a couple of days they were the best fitting boots I ever owned. Still are. I bought a pair of Overlanders in the same size. I asked customer service if they would break in like the Roberts. They said yes you’re good to go. I wore them to work every day for 3 months. I suffered trying to break them in. Had them stretched professionally twice but we’re still painful. Talked with customer service and sent them pictures. They didn’t want to help me. Their response was “better luck next time “. They lost a customer. If they took care of me I would still be a customer. I have turned my boot buying to Franks. More than happy with their service and their boots.
Where have you been?
What a tedious video.
I knew it you must be in eastern Manitoba or in western Ontario. I used to work up in the Bisette area and your property looks just like that place. Especially with the black flies I’ll take the mosquitos over them. I used to own an art company in Winnipeg called Monart I did custom picture framing, large format printing on canvas, water colour, and lots of different types of paper. I also did prints, lithographs and proofs for many artist throughout Canada, the United States and abroad. The cabin build is amazing. Happy Easter to you and your family.
Wow! 10k 😮 nice cabin...I'm like Mr.Rogers " Want you be my neighbor "🤔
Your windows are great, I would probably done double panes for isolation but looks great!
I've been planning on getting these, but as I got closer to the purchase I also started looking at others in the same price point and 'quality' ratings. Your video ended it all :-). Thank you for the final push with your vote of confidence.
Sonho em morar em uma casa assim
Leather is truly a Godsent material.
That is some creative work. Thinking outside the box. You are an inspiration and a great source of new thinking. Perhaps these are age old techniques. A new sub, bell rung and always a 'Like'. in Ontario, Canada, take care, Rick...
Love the cabin and video! Can you tell me what camera(s) your using for the wildlife at night?
Looks great.
Which model boots are these?
lol its in the title
I was thinking about Nicks boots for a while but now I’m convinced that I won’t buy them. They are so expensive and, breaking in half? I was not expecting that. For all of you who have these- my best wishes and happy days. Over 😂😂
wat? the ones breaking in half aint the nicks, those are the cheap boots that he wore before.
You should have just done the plexiglass again and filled in the triangles with plexiglass..would have been awesomesauce!
I love the windows...absolutely love this cabin
Was that plexiglass for the windows? What material did you use for under and around the wood burning stove??
I have to stop watching your videos right before lunch. The salivation and stomach growling are unbearable!
My mouth was LITERALLY watering on that first bite of steak!
Your videography is excellent!
